From Spring to Summer the region is quite temperate with many fine days.
In late Autumn and Winter the winds from the Northwest bring with them colder air currents and
very changeable weather with heavy rain which soon changes to heavy snow.
The district is blanketed in some of the highest quality snow in the world from late November to mid April.
Winter here is like winter nowhere else.
When nature decides it is winter, the transformation is instantaneous, the mountains are instantly coated
with a thick white blanket and while nature sleeps the mountains come alive with
an amazing array of winter activities.
The snow here is 'first grade'powder snow unlike any other snow on earth.
For skiing and snowboarding this is paradise!!
