A desire to contribute to life’s special moments with wine
This vineyard is located by the creek of Koyachi in the Nobori district of Yoichi Town.
The winery’s name, Lan Seqqua, was coined by combining the playful onomatopoeia Lan
(resembling the sound Lan Lan Lan) with the word “snowflakes” to represent winter,
a season the winemaker Shuntaro Yamakawa holds dear. Grape cultivation commenced in
2018. Spanning approximately two hectares, the vineyard features a slope oriented to
the west-southwest, and a smaller south-facing slope. It is primarily planted with red wine
grape varieties Pinot Noir and Zweigelt. After obtaining a winemaking license in 2020,
the winery released its wine crafted with grapes harvested from its own vineyard,
KOYACHI and pon nitay, in 2023.
