Enjoy seasonal seafood delights from the waters near the Shakotan Peninsula in Shiribeshi at a long-established hotel priding itself on its cuisine
Named “Suimeikaku” by Masataka Taketsuru, the founder of Nikka Whisky, this venerable
establishment was founded in 1937. Located by the Yoichi River, it provides a refreshing and
leisurely atmosphere where guests can enjoy the river views and the chirping of birds.
The cuisine includes dishes such as traditional Shokado Gozen, featuring seasonal ingredients
from the sea, river, fields, and other rich natural surroundings of Yoichi and Shakotan,
as well as charcoal-grilled ayu (sweetfish). Enjoy these dishes with Shiribeshi wine and other
alcoholic beverages.
